Start Right

A calm, thoughtful setup protects your appliance and builds confidence. Every model is different, so begin with the instructions supplied with your specific product.

02 / Air fryers & countertop ovens

Air Fryer Basics

Learn the small habits that help foods brown evenly while keeping the cooking process controlled and comfortable.

  1. Arrange, never pack. Place food in a suitable single layer where practical; leave room for hot air to circulate.
  2. Follow the recipe and model. Use recommended temperatures and times; only preheat when your appliance calls for it.
  3. Check and turn. Shake or turn food if appropriate, then verify safe doneness with a food thermometer for meat and poultry.
  4. Cool before cleaning. Unplug when required and let hot surfaces cool before handling removable parts.
Kitchen note: Avoid lining vents or baskets in a way your appliance manufacturer prohibits.

03 / Blenders & juicers

Blending Made Simple

A smooth finish starts with preparation. Choose your technique below for a quick, appliance-specific walkthrough.

Build a better blend

Cut ingredients into manageable pieces. Add liquid and ingredients in the order recommended by your model, secure the lid, then start at an appropriate speed. Pause and scrape sides only after the blades have stopped and the appliance is safely switched off.

04 / Coffee & espresso

Coffee, Beautifully Made

The best routine is repeatable. Make freshness, water quality and routine cleaning part of each brew.

  1. Prepare. Fill the reservoir with water suitable for your machine and seat the carafe or portafilter correctly.
  2. Measure. Use the coffee dose and grind suited to your brewer; follow its manual for settings.
  3. Brew. Start the cycle, stay clear of hot spouts and steam, and avoid interrupting pressurized extraction.
  4. Refresh. Empty used grounds, clean approved parts and descale on the manufacturer's schedule.

05 / Mixers & baking

Mix & Bake

Great dough and batters are built patiently. Let the right attachment and mixing speed do the work rather than rushing the process.

  1. Choose the attachment. Use the beater, whisk or dough hook specified for the mixture and your machine.
  2. Start gently. Begin slowly to prevent splashing or flour clouds; increase speed only as needed.
  3. Mind the load. Respect the motor's capacity, ingredient weight and operating-time limits.
  4. Finish safely. Switch off, unplug where instructed and wait for every moving part to stop before changing tools.
Texture tip: Stop and check the mixture as you work. More mixing is not always better, especially with delicate batters.

06 / Slow cookers & multicookers

One-Pot Confidence

Different modes call for different preparation. Learn the essentials before you choose slow cooking, steaming or pressure cooking.

SelectChoose the correct cooking mode and settings.
ReleaseFollow the precise pressure-release method in the manual.

For pressure cooking, inspect seals and valves before use. Never force open a pressurized lid or cover a steam vent. For slow cooking, keep the lid on as directed and check safe final food temperatures.

Important: Cooking times, minimum liquid levels and lid procedures vary by model. Use your specific product manual for all settings.

07 / Everyday maintenance

Care That Lasts

The best appliances deserve small, consistent acts of care. Open each routine for a practical reminder.

After every use

Turn off and unplug when applicable. Let surfaces cool, empty food residue, then clean only parts listed as removable and washable in your manual.

Weekly care

Check removable gaskets, filters, seals and accessories where relevant. Wipe external panels with a suitable lightly damp cloth; never immerse electrical bases.

Periodic upkeep

Descale coffee and kettle equipment when instructed. Inspect cords and replace worn accessories through the manufacturer's approved support channels.

Before storage

Dry cleaned parts fully, keep the appliance in a cool dry location, and avoid tightly winding the power cord around the device.
